Veedersburg—Cora May Horton, 83, Route 3, Veedersburg, died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 1989, at her son’s home.
She was born March 2, 1906, in Salem, the daughter of John W. and Clara Miller Deweese. She was married Feb. 14, 1924, to William D. Horton, who preceded her in death April 10, 1983.
She had been a resident of Route 3, Veedersburg since 1966 and a former resident of Covington and Rankin, Ill.
She was a member of Community Bible Church.
Surviving are three sons, Earl, Brookston; Don, Rankin, Ill., and Gale “Bud”, Route 3, Veedersburg; a granddaughter, Cheryl Pentecost, Danville, Ill., whom she raised; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; three sisters and a brother. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Pastor David Frazeur officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington. – thanks to S
